This is the Newell saddle used for this segment. The saddle was purchased on eBay. The saddle looks ok but has some hidden problems. The spots are in bad shape along with the skirt lining and strings. I also found broken leather that supports the front rings. Rings are rusted, pitted, do not match and one is held on with a section of old belt and a bolt. The saddle has been over oiled to the point that if you touch it with anything it becomes oily brown. Many stitches are broken everywhere.
After the saddle was disassembled a major crack was found in the tree and required a repair.
